Thank you King Elliot

We definately were not worthy of all the great fun we had this weekend. Thank you so very much.

It was great hanging out with friends and making new ones or getting to know better folks that we have met before.

Talk Like a pirate day

The whole reason for "Talk Like a Pirate Day" is inspired by none other than Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Let's take a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Captain Jack Sparrow

Yesterday when I got to work I found a BIG surprise....Captain Jack Sparrow is making a limited appearance for pictures and autographs.  Now I swoon like everyone else BUT because of his appearance Rafiki and Timon have been moved from their regular meet and greet spot to make room for the good  captain.
I will not be able to give my final good byes to my Lion Kings friends as I had planned.  I will miss them.

A must read for parents and children

This was posted in a bulletin on MY Space but I decided to share this here also because of its importance.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ ALL OF THIS and HAVE CHILDREN READ IT TOO!

After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get on-line. She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message:

ByAngel213:
Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought someone was following me home today. It was really weird!

GoTo123:
LOL You watch too much TV. Why would someone be following you?
Don't you live in a safe neighborhood?

ByAngel213:
Of course I do. LOL I guess it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see anybody when I looked out.

GoTo123:
Unless you gave your name out on-line. You haven't done that have you?

ByAngel213:
Of course not. I'm not stupid you know.

GoTo123:
Did you have a softball game after school today?

ByAngel213:
Yes and we won!!

GoTo123:
That's great! Who did you play?

ByAngel213:
We played the Hornets. LOL. Their uniforms are so gross! They look like bees. LOL

GoTo123:
What is your team called?

ByAngel213:
We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger paws on our uniforms. They are really cool.

GoTo1 23:
Did you pitch?

ByAngel213:
No I play second base. I got to go. My homework has to be done before my parents get home. I don't want them mad at me. Bye!

GoTo123:
Catch you later. Bye

Meanwhile.......GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for her profile. When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.

Her name: Shannon
Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985
Age: 13
State where she lived: North Carolina

Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall. Besides this information, he knew she lived in Canton because she had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m. every afternoon until her parents came home from work. He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey. He knew she was in the eighth grade at the Canton Junior High School . She had told him all this in the conversations they had on- line. He had enough information to find her now.

Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from the ballpark that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always overreacting and hers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents wouldn't be so overprotective.

By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the footsteps following her.

Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her. It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base position to see a man watching her closely.

He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt.

After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach. She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and she smiled back. He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found her.

Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few blocks to Shannon 's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly returned to the park to get his car.

Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time came to go to Shannon 's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and sat there until time to make his move.

Shannon was in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the living room.

'Shannon, come here,' her father called. He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa.

'Sit down,' her father began, 'this man has just told us a most interesting story about you.'

Shannon sat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never seen him before today!

'Do you know who I am, Shannon ?' the man asked.

'No,' Shannon answered.

'I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123.'

Shannon was stunned. 'That's im possible! GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan !'

The man smiled. 'I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You see, Shannon , there are people on-line who pretend to be kids; I was one of them. But while others do it to injure kids and hurt them, I belong to a group of parents who do it to protect kids from predators. I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for me to find you. You named the school you went to, the name of your ball team and the po sition you played. The number and name on your jersey just made finding you a breeze.'

Shannon was stunned 'You mean you don't live in Michigan ?'

He laughed. 'No, I live in Raleigh . It made you feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?'

She nodded.

'I had a friend whose daughter was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky. The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. Kids are taught not to tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line. The wrong people trick you into givi ng out information a little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them enough for them to find you without even realizing you have done it. I hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. Tell others about this so they will be safe too?'

'It's a promise!'

That night Shannon and her Dad and M om all knelt down together and thanked God for protecting Shannon from what could have been a tragic situation.

*****NOW****

EVEN FORWARD THIS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT KIDS SO THEY CAN SEND IT TO FRIENDS THAT DO HAVE CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN

What?? Mickey isn't here??

When  Tilt introduced me to everyone awhile back he promised funny stories about the happenings at Walt Disney World.  I have lived up to that somewhat but they have been mostly of the antics of either Br'er Fox or Rafiki.  This summer I am not exclusively with Tilt anymore.  Only 2 days a week Saturday and Sunday and realistically only Sunday since by his own admission and I quote, " I do NOT work Saturdays!"  Well Tilt as a result my stories are not going to be highlighting you as often.

Today I was in The Storybook Room (better known as the Princess Room) in Toontown.  The princesses today were: Aurora,Cinderella and Belle.  Usually the wait to visit the princesses is very long.  It is usually about 30-45 minutes and sometimes longer.  I have seen times that it has been 90 minutes.  As you get into line and there are 3 different lines there are pictures above telling you who you will see if you get into the line  Example today in the Pals Room was Minnie, Donald and Daisy.  In the Classic Friends room was Chip&Dale, Goofy and Snow White.  And the Storybook rooms was a stated above.  There are cast members there to help you decide which line you want to get in.  So you would think that guests would know just who they are going to see after they waited in the long line.  RIGHT????
Nope....this happened 4 times today.  They walk into the room after waiting in the line for 45 minutes.  Take one look at the princesses and say "Mickey is not here???"  I told them where to find Mickey.  Go through his house next door and out through his garden to the tent outback and they will find Mickey there.  They took this information and asked to leave without even seeing the princesses.  I could kinda understand this if the children involved were boys since they are not to keen on the princesses but there were little girls.  Go figure.

It is official now...I am old!

This morning on my way to work I recieved a phone call from my sister.  She was calling to tell me that my aunt had passed away.  Our family is not a close family and I had not been in touch with my aunt in several years.  Not since my mother passed in 2000.

However with her passing it make me the oldest family member.  How can this be????  I am only 19!!!!
That was what my father said his age was until the day he died....he was 82.

Maybe I need a few days off

For over a month now we have been on mandatory overtime and I am getting tired.  Yes i did play hookie last Saturday and called in.

I am starting to get really cranky at work.  I love my job and what I do just not so much of it.  Today I was with Rafiki and Timon.  No, our Tilt was not there.  It is Saturday folkes and if he can find a way not to work (although scheduled) on Saturday he does not.  But I sure as heck wish he had been.  Rafiki today was a whiner.  Complained about everything.  Was never on time for set.  Was complaining about the costume.  Said I did not understand what she was going through. I told her I did.  She said I could not understand unless I put on the costume.  I simply said I have and I do.  Finally I had had enough of her bitching and her not doing her job.  Usually I take care of whatever problems may arise in the location and never call a manager so they know if I call it is important.  The manager was there in 5 minutes.  He spoke to her.  Although the complaining didn't stop at least she was on time for set, which is all I care about.  The whining will be taken care of by her fellow cast.  And she will be back tomorrow.  Oh joy.

The guests were a bit cranky today also.  It was very hot and is suppose to be hotter tomorrow.  They were doing some really strange stuff today also.  I heard about an incident that happened at an attraction that is beyond belief.  I guess the line was really long and an adult guest had to go to the restroom.  Right in the que line he dropped his pants and took a dump.

I need  vacation!!!!  I am going to be taking a mini vacation in July.  I am taking 4 days off starting the 7th of July.  No I am not going to Pittsburg.  I am going to stay home and get some much needed rest.

Courage

Today as I was walking in the tunnel I saw a fellow cast member wearing a Tshirt that said:

Courage is overcoming your fears to live your dreams!

My thoughts were that is what I am doing now.

I am coming out of my shell that has either been self imposed or by others.  Once I broke open the self imposed shell and decided to live my life for me instead of what others perceive me to be or would like me to be, it was easy to find the strength to do what I should have done many years ago.  I still have a rocky road to get through, but I have found the courage to take the rocky road.
